Roy's very own Blues Club is now open in Winston Salem, North Carolina! A lot of work and planning (...and painting...) has gone into it, and now it's time to just sit back, order a few rounds, and listen to Roy & some smooth-blues-tunes! For Roy, and the whole gang - we hope to see you there! (Click here for more info)
If you are a fan of the Blues and you live anywhere around the Winston-Salem, NC area then you have NO GOOD REASON to miss this event! If you live further away, you're excuses are still sketchy! The reason is because it isn't everyday that you are personally invited to celebrate in the hoopla that surrounds the release of great NEW CD... let alone the release of a Blues Legend's great NEW CD! Roy wants all his friends there, but seating is limited!
So, call the club at (336) 725-5885 and tell Dixie that you don't want to miss this event and have to live with the regret and shame that would ensue! (*15.00 ticket includes BOTH days events!).
As an extra incentive, ROY'S PLACE is providing FREE HORSD'OEUVRE'S and "beverage" to those who attend. And, his new CD DAYLIGHT WITH A FLASHLIGHT will be available at a substantial discount for ticket holders only! It'll be a good time to get it autographed by Roy!
BLUZMAN says:
Roy's NEW CD is here! "DAYLIGHT WITH A FLASHLIGHT" is the impressive extension of an already stellar body of work by ROY ROBERTS. "The things got crossover in it. It's a combination from Bobby Bland to Robert Cray. It's probably my best recording". That's what Roy himself has to say about this, his third release as the featured artist on his award winning ROCK HOUSE RECORDS label. Available now!(Liner notes by Scott Bock - Living Blues ).

There are some moments you want to freeze in time - take for example finding yourself in a small club, tiny trails of smoke dancing to the beat in the air around you, knowing glances between friends signaling that this moment is red hot. Such is the vibe you'll feel WHEN (notice I'm not giving you an option!) you visit ROY'S PLACE and hear blues sensation Roy Roberts first hand.
Roy is one of those treasures that seems to be appreciated more as an export than in the area he calls home, but hopefully that will change now that he's created his own venue located on 850 N. Liberty Street.
Roy has just released his new CD "Daylight With A Flashlight" and I got a chance to attend his CD release party this past weekend. This was no glam, in your face, chaotic gathering... Read More...>>>
